Seven Oaks has a small equine breeding program, intended to create a few good horses for us, our staff, and our students. We very rarely sell horses outside the barn, so the photos below are not technically of horses for sale. However, the right home can be a persuasive argument, so feel free to contact us if you see someone who tickles your fancy... (Unless otherwise noted, all of the horses below belong to Carrie & Pamela.)	All of the horses below are by our own stallion, the Hanoverian "Gavilan," or by "Ijsselmeer," a Dutch stallion owned by Dr. Deborah Harrison. Our current and past broodmares are varied: 2 Dutch, 1 Swedish, 1 Trakehner & 1 Welsh cob. This information about our home-bred horses is current as of September, 2011.
Justin was born in July of 2009. He is a bay gelding, with a lot of chrome. He is by Gavilan, out of Molly, a Welsh cob mare. We will back him in the summer of 2012. In the meantime, here he is, in all his glory.
Esme was born in May of 2009. She is a bright bay filly with chrome, by Ijsselmeer, out of Kessel (Jorka), a Dutch Warmblood mare. A full sister to Zoe, below, we expect her to mature to at least 17 hands. We will back her in the summer of 2012. In the meantime, you can see her (sort of), with her sisters. Esme is on the left, lying down, and on the far right, standing.
Griffin was born in August of 2008. He is a dark bay gelding, by Gavilan out of Thea (Perdita), a Dutch Warmblood mare. A full brother to Eli, below, we expect him to mature to around 17 hands. Griffin is walking and trotting under saddle.
Ginny was born in August of 2008. She is a bay mare, by Gavilan, out of Molly, a Welsh cob mare. She belongs to Ann, a Seven Oaks student. Ginny walks & trots under saddle. We don't yet have any pictures of her with her "mom", so this lunge-line shot will haveto do for now. That's Tina, her current rider, in the background.
Daria was born in June of 2008. She is a grey mare, by Ijsselmeer, out of Kessel (Jorka), a Dutch Warmblood mare. A full sister to Zoe, below, we expect her to mature to at least 17 hands. Daria walks, trots and canters (oops!) under saddle; we'll also try very hard to get some sexy pix of her with Tina on her back. In the meantime, you can see her (sort of), with her sisters. Eli was born in June of 2006. He is a bay gelding, with 4 white socks and a blaze, and we expect him to mature well over 17 hands. He is by Gavilan, out of Thea (Perdita), a Dutch Warmblood mare. Eli is under saddle, but the only photo we have of him shows him pestering Pam.
Annabelle was born in August of 2005. She is a bright bay mare with lots of chrome, about 16 hands, and is by Ijsselmeer, out of Thea (Perdita), a Dutch Warmblood mare. Carrie is riding Annabelle these days, but we're putting show plans for her on hold. We have so many new horses in training that will be showing that we don't think we have the woman-power to add any of our own.
Zoe was born in July of 2004. She is by Ijsselmeer, out of Kessel (Jorka), a Dutch warmblood mare. She belongs to a former Seven Oaks student. She is a little bit older now than in this picture...
Meg was born in May of 2002. She is by Gavilan, out of Finn, a Trakhener mare. She belongs to Joe, a long-time Seven Oaks student, and is seen here schooling with Joe (above) and competing with Chauna (below). We consider her an outstanding example of what a dressage horse should be.
Ula is a Dutch mare, born in April or 2001, by Ijseelmeer out of Thea (Perdita). She now belongs to a former Seven Oaks trainer, Sarah. Sarah now runs her own training operation, but she and Ula still train and show with Seven Oaks. Ula has been a dressage horse super-star--look for her to compete at Prix St Georges soon.
Sam, Gracie, Gonzo, Minty & Max are all by Gavilan. They all have other homes these days, and we miss them but are very happy for them!
